FAQ's
WHAT SIZE ARE THE CARICATURES ?
Caricatures are drawn on A3 (42 CM X 30CM approx) card using quick dry black marker
and can be finished either Black and White, Black and White with Grey shading or Colour
Once finished they are placed in a transparent sealable bag to protect from spillages etc
HOW LONG DOES EACH CARICATURE TAKE ?
Generally the Black/White/Grey caricatures take approx 4 mins each for individuals
(15 per hour) and slightly longer for couples and groups
Colour does take longer and is better only for smaller parties.
DO YOU OFFER ANYTHING EXTRA ?
The card I draw on can be pre-printed with an individual message of your choice
(no extra charge)
For weddings this is usually the Bride and Grooms name and the date
HOW LONG DO PEOPLE USUALLY BOOK YOU FOR ?
For weddings I can come in either in the afternoon between the service and the meal
(2-3 hrs) or in the evening (2-4 hrs)
Parties and other events can be anything from 2 hrs to all day
WHERE DO YOU NORMALLY SET UP
I prefer to stay in one spot and allow victims (I mean customers)
to come to me, this is quicker, although I can wander amongst guests if required.
I do need a well lit area for best results and a bit of space as part of
the entertainment is for others to watch the caricatures being produced
(usually with suitable comments being thrown in at regular intervals)
DO YOU EVER OFFEND THE RECIPIENTS ?
The caricatures themselves are designed to be amusing not offensive,
the only problem I very occasionally encounter is when people don't
fully understand what a caricature is and expect fine art
HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN YOU DRAW ON ONE SHEET ?
I can draw individuals, couples and groups up to about six
on one sheet as required.
HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE ?
My normal fee is £75 per hour with a minimum booking of two hours
ARE THERE ANY HIDDEN EXTRAS TO PAY
Unfortunately i do have to apply travel charges for some areas
around and over the border but this is always declared before a deposit is taken
HOW MUCH IS THE DEPOSIT ?
I ask for £50 deposit payable by cheque or card and this secures the date
Cheques should be made payable to 'Inkwell cartoon & caricature'
and sent to the address listed on the contacts page
DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE ?
I do have Public Liability Insurance and can provide a copy upon request
(Copy of Public Liability Insurance Certificate available on request)
